About HARRTC

The goal of our rehabilitation research training center is to provide a rigorous, in-depth advanced research training program that will prepare investigators, physicians, Ph.D.’s, and physician-researchers, for independent rehabilitation researcher careers. Our approach is innovative in that we also expose PM&R physiatry residents and medical students to formal didactic research methodology early in their training. This dual approach-exposing PM&R residents and medical students to research methodology and providing intensive research-focused training to postdoctoral research fellows-has the potential to make an important contribution to rehabilitation research training for a significant number of rehabilitation clinicians. Because research training through fellowship preparation enhances scholarly activity, our HARRTC provides advanced rehabilitation research training for PM&R fellows, physician residents, physical therapist-clinician scientists, nurse-clinician scientists, nutrition and exercise scientists, and physiologists.
